Our second summer course in 2019 is *Fictions of Home*, 21-26 July 2019. What does 'home' mean in literature of the past 200 years? We study some great writers from Jane Austen to present-day refugee writers. A rare opportunity to live in a Cambridge college and study with leading scholars. Our teachers include Oliver Goldstein, Alison Hennegan, Isobel Maddison, Jane Potter, Corinna Russell, Trudi Tate, Clare Walker Gore, and others.

We will study:

Austen, Northanger Abbey
Austen, Pride and Prejudice
Dickens, David Copperfield
Woolf, Mrs Dalloway
Mansfield, Collected Stories
Viet Nguyen, The Refugees
Viet Nguyen, ed., The Displaced
Herd and Pincus, eds., Refugee Tales II

Our students are of all ages from 18 upwards, and come from all over the world.

From one of our previous students:
‘I loved the wonderful mix of academics, graduate students and common readers, like myself, who made up our group.’
