We are recruiting for the below roles:
Food/Drink workers will be relied upon to help ensure stock levels at all bars and food stalls remain topped up. They may also be relied upon to be servers, either roaming or in stationary bars and food stalls. Any prior experience would be useful, but training will be provided.
Ents workers will be relied upon to help ensure the smooth running of all ents at the ball. This may involve looking after acts for one of the stages, or helping assist at a stationary act. You will work closely with the Ents Officer to ensure the timetable is kept to as strictly as possible. You may also be needed to do sound monitoring during the ball.
General workers can be assigned to any number of jobs around the ball, but mostly this will be about assisting with security, litter picking and clean up, and with the cloakroom. Most importantly, general workers will be adaptable to given situations and expected to take initiative to contact supervisors and fix issues that may arise throughout the ball.
Fire Stewards will ensure that all regulations and rules regarding health and safety are adhered to throughout the ball. Responsibilities will include monitoring the flow of traffic, coordinating any evacuations that may occur, preventing overcrowding, checking wristbands and generally supporting the security team. Relevant experience would be useful but full training will be given.
All supervisors will assist in the management of those working in the different roles they have applied for. They will remain in regular communication with the personnel officer and relevant officers for their sections throughout the evening. Previous experience is highly desirable, particularly of working at previous balls. There will be interviews for these positions held on the 21st of February and there will be training for these roles after we have selected supervisors.
The deadline for these roles is the 15th of February from then we will get in contact to arrange interviews, and give further information, including dates for training.
If you have any questions please email [email protected]
Disclaimer: Whilst we will do our best to offer people their first preference of shift and role this may not be possible in all cases. We will also require a cheque deposit from all those chosen to work at the Ball this will be arranged closer to the time, but will involve the submission of a cheque to cover the remuneration you will receive for your work. This cheque will be cashed if you fail to turn up to work, turn up to work in a state unfit to work or in response to any other violation of the terms of the employment contract.
