MASTANA 2019, CUHCS’ most anticipated event of the year, is back… AND WITH A BANG!

The evening promises to bring you the best Indian cultural performances at Cambridge ranging from DANCING to SINGING to FASHION, MAGIC and more!

All proceeds will go to our selected charities: Mind UK and Goonj. In the past, we have raised HUGE amounts of money (over £10,000!), with last year’s show being a complete sell-out! Now in its 23rd year, we aim to make Mastana even bigger and better, but we need you! Join us on Saturday, 23rd February to revel in an evening that will be nothing less than pure entertainment — Indian-style, and see a unique side to your friends, who will doubtless leave you amazed with their energy, style, and charm.

WHAT IS MASTANA?

Every year Cambridge University Hindu Cultural Society (CUHCS) runs their premier cultural show to showcase the talents of students and the community in and around Cambridge. In the past we have had an array of dance styles including Bollywood, Bharatnatyam and even break-dance. We’ve had sensational singers, musicians and hilarious comedy acts. But that is not all. Our committee has also directed a dramatic, captivating play to show you their views on Indian Culture.

This year is no exception. We have excellent acts lined up to leave you with an unforgettable evening.

We are also proud to announce our fashion sponsors, ShreeDesignz and Nekewlam, so you can enjoy a fantastic fashion show and consider some great deals on clothing and jewellery!

OUR CHARITIES

We will be supporting two wonderful charities this year: Mind and Goonj, based in the UK and in India respectively.

Mind is a UK-based mental health charity that aims to support people with mental health disorders through information and advice. Besides this, it also raises public awareness, improves services and campaigns about mental health! 50% of all money raised from Mastana 2019 will be contributed to Mind.

Goonj is a NGO based in India, working in disaster relief, humanitarian aid and community development. Their success rates stem from working at the grassroots level to help meet the needs of the individual.
