Roger Mosey, now Master of Selwyn College, previously spent more than 30 years as a BBC journalist and manager. His roles included being editor of the Today programme; controller of BBC 5 Live; head of television news; director of sport; and director of the London 2012 Olympics.

He has written about the BBC in his 2015 book 'Getting Out Alive', and in this talk he will explore what it is that makes the BBC a national asset and a world-leading public service broadcaster – but also a source of frustration even to its employees and friends. He has a perspective on what it’s like to work at the heart of the organisation on some of its biggest programmes, while also now offering an outsider’s view on the corporation’s strengths and weaknesses.
