Cambridge's finest underground comedy club returns June 14th upstairs in NOVI, Cambridge
and we'd love it if you came too!
People say our club is better than antidepressants!
Our closing act of the night is Karen Bayley. Delightfully saucy, her friendly and confident stage presence, combined with a killer wit, an infectious giggle and some devastating one-liners.
“Bayley’s material surprises with inspired and sparkling punchlines…with comic timing that is rarely less than brilliant. An assured performer who doesn’t have much trouble getting audiences laughing.” - Chortle
“I saw her recently and she blew my socks off. She doesn’t dwell too much on “lady issues”. Funny in her own right, she was brilliant, clever and she’s gonna be huge.” BBC Online.
“Likeable headstrong persona- packing a considerable performing punch.” The List
“Karen is one of the most consistently hilarious comedians I have had the pleasure of working with. She’s a sharp writer and an unflappable compère, able to cajole any room with her warm audience interaction and precise intelligent gags, ” Joe Lycett
Supporting Karen will be:
Amy Howerska — She is fast establishing herself as an unusual and thrilling comic voice on the UK circuit. She is a regular writer and contributor to comedy programmes on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Wales. Her first sitcom pilot for BBC3 The Outsiders premieres this May. She enjoys long walks on the beach and absinthe.
‘A force to be reckoned with’ (Chortle).
Akin Omobitan was born in Nigeria, raised in London and has fallen for stand-up. His comedy is dark and playful. Wrong-footing audiences for sport, Akin blends shadowy storytelling with murky punchlines to walk you through his life’s grey areas.
In 2017, Akin won the Max Turner Prize, performed as a finalist in Leicester Square Theatre’s New Comedian of the Year, and as a semi-finalist in So You Think You’re Funny?
«An expert example of compelling storytelling.» — Steve Bennett, Chortle
Matt Bragg — Through laconic, dry humour, delivered with precision timing Matt Bragg is experienced and making waves: supporting Harry Hill and being noticed by a whole host of comedians and promoters on the circuit, his unique and engaging storytelling leaves the audience hanging on the edge, listening intently.
«Matt Bragg is the best new act I’ve seen in ages
and I’ve seen a lot » Mike Gunn
