Picassiette — meaning stolen from plate
pique assiette or picassiette ( a french term -“stolen from plate”) – mosaic art made from pieces of broken pottery, china, glass, buttons, figurines, and/ jewelery. Almost any form can be used as a base, and any combination of pieces can be applied, restricted only by the individual creator’s imagination.
During this one-day workshop you will create a picassiette wall hanging. You will learn how to cut china and use various tools to achieve desired cuts and shapes, precision setting techniques through to grouting and finishing your piece. You will be provided with plenty of examples for inspiration but if you have your own ideas, please print and bring them with you.
£75 per person includes all tuition and materials — you will create two pieces of art during the day.
