Applications are now open for the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra (CUSO) Concerto Competition for the upcoming academic year 2018-19. We will be taking on two soloists, one performing in Michaelmas 2018 and one in Lent 2019.
Application deadline is Monday 11th June, 23:59!
Auditions will be held on the morning of Friday 15th June. The applicant must be a student at Cambridge University at the time of the auditions, but does not necessarily have to be a student in the academic year 2018-19.
For the audition, candidates are asked to prepare a movement from a concerto (or for singers, a selection of orchestral songs) lasting no more than 10 minutes. (The movement does not have to be from the concerto you want to perform with us.) No accompanist will be provided; candidates are asked to bring their own. Pianists should also provide an accompanist (there will be two pianos available in the room).
To apply, please send a cover letter and a CV, including any relevant concerto experience, to [email protected]
by the application deadline.
If you have any questions, please email Siobhan Connellan (CUSO President) at [email protected]
We look forward to receiving your application!
*Please note: the competition is not an event open to audiences*
