This August The Star & Mouse Picture Show is honoured to be invited to screen this war movie in the private garden attached to The Cambridge American Cemetery on Madingley Road. This will be a very special event indeed.
We are pleased to announce that the cemetery itself will be kept open especially for our visitors; those wishing to do so are welcome to visit the rest of the site before the film begins. We are honoured to have a guest speaker with us from the cemetery who will be leading an informal talk for anyone who wishes to listen. In addition to this, there will also be some live music, food, drink and a visit from live-historian group GI 41-45 complete with an exhibition of wartime jeeps and military artifacts and authentic medical tents.
The American Cemetery is a 15 minute cycle away from Cambridge town centre and is also a featured stop on the bus service. For those driving to this event, please note that free parking is available at the rear of the site which can be accessed on the Cambridge Road opposite the turning to Coton on Madingley Road.
For all our screenings, doors open 1 and a half hours prior to the scheduled start time of the movie — we recommend you arrive at this time to get a drink at the bar, have something to eat, enjoy the entertainment provided and reserve your place, as seating is unreserved and is managed on a first come first serve basis. We can only give estimated start times for our movies as we must wait until darkness arrives in order to project a clear image.
Please note that picnics are not permitted. All food must be purchased on site.
We advise our guests to dress warmly and bring blankets to snuggle under. Seating is provided. This ticket includes entry to The American Cemetery, access to live entertainment and the outdoor auditorium for the screening itself.
